HTA Runas Administrator Context Menu

I use a lot of HTA files, including Microsoft’s terrific Scriptomatic.hta, which writes vbscripts for you. On a Windows 2008 server you need to copy the HTA file down to the local machine before running. This REG file, HTA_RunAS.reg, gives you a context menu to RunAs Administrator. Rename to .REG to and merge. This is a subset of the reg file in a more recent post.

All the scripts are saved as .txt files. Newer files have a “View Script” button which will let you save or open a script in notepad. For earlier posts, the easiest way to download with IE is to right click on the link and use “Save Target As”. Rename file from Name_ext.txt to Name.ext.
