Dell ExtPart.exe: Extend Volumes Easily

There are literally half a dozen different ways to extend a volume and here is one more. This Dell utility will expand boot drives on Windows XP/2000/2003 without downtime. VMware Info: Dell ExtPart.exe ; Extend Volumes Easily.

I typically use a GParted boot disk for enlarging a drive. An NT admin at work tried ExtPart on a Windows 2003 boot drive and it worked without a reboot. I now routinely use it to extend virtual machine drives.

All the scripts are saved as .txt files. Newer files have a “View Script” button which will let you save or open a script in notepad. For earlier posts, the easiest way to download with IE is to right click on the link and use “Save Target As”. Rename file from Name_ext.txt to Name.ext.
